Your MAMAKU BLUE tour includes being met on arrival by our friendly staff before you are escorted to our "air conditioned" people carrier that will whisk you off into the blueberry orchard. Spend time discovering the story behind Mamaku Blue and learn the steps involved in getting the blueberry from the bush to the market.
From the orchard you will visit the sorting and packaging shed, where you will learn the intricacies of the export blueberry market and some of the steps that make MAMAKU BLUE berries so special. Your will then proceed on through to the wine making department, have a chat to the wine maker and learn about blueberry wines.
From there it is back on to the people carrier to be delivered to the specialised blueberry retail shop and café, were you can taste a range of blueberry products including our wines and Liqueurs. You may like to make a purchase of Blueberry products and enjoy one of the chefs' delicacies such as a hot blueberry pie or muffin with your choice of Dilmah tea or freshly brewed coffee.
If time permits, stay a little longer and enjoy a special blueberry lunch. Our function room caters for large groups.
You may also like to browse through the memorabilia of Mamaku in our museum.
Our basic orchard/winery and tastings tour takes approximately 60 minutes, but be sure to allow additional time to enjoy the Tastings and other treats available. Additional to our orchard and winery tours , the MAMAKU BLUE property has native bush walks and farm tours. A range of catering options are available for your morning/afternoon teas, lunches or dinners.
In conjunction with MAMAKU BLUE tours we also have available a selection of other interesting attractions in the district that can be visited to make a full and relaxed day of discovery. We are happy to help you plan a special day out to fit in with your itinerary.

For my 40th birthday my husband arranged a weekend of activity in Rotorua. The highlight for me was the visit to Mamaku Blue Blueberry Farm.
We took the Orchard & Winery Tour, and over the hour and a half we were treated to a personal, humourous, honest and thoroughly enjoyable tour of this lovely farm.
After a the tour of the crops and the manufacturing areas we returned to the main building to taste-test the products. Every one was divine!

I was fortunate to come along to your winery last weekend. Firstly, the hospitality and food were wonderful. On a very cold morning the welcome was certainly warm. Then, what can I say, I haven't laughed so hard since I went on the vineyard tour.
I don't think anyone of us who went a long would have had any idea of what to expect, but your owner was superb. The presentation was fantastic: educational and topped up by the wit and quick thinking of the presenter. Well done to you all. You are on my list of places to recommend to friends.

Dear folks,
Recently we visited the Mamaku Blue Winery. All 34 of us had a thoroughly enjoyable day including the tour of the orchard and chillers with Harry and Anne and being looked after in the shop (with the tasting and sampling) and the Cafe by John and his staff. Everybody declared they had a very scrumptious lunch indeed.
We gave our experience a well deserved 5 out of 5!

Dear John,
The Kapiti CWI members wish to thank you for a wonderful day.
Despite the very wet day, you made us feel at home. The warm welcome, the delicious lunch and the fun ride to the packing plant will be remembered for a long time.
The guide was entertaining and the tasting was great. The kindness shown by all of you made our day.

Dear Anne and Philip,
I'm so pleased I opted for the winery tour. Philip, you were brilliant: your ability to inform, humour & maintain the visitors interest was praiseworthy - not easy with a "train-load" of Know-All female teachers!
Well done! The group was delighted with the products available - hope the cash register was smiling! See you at the next get together!
