Testimonials

"I was introduced to the Mamaku Blueberry juice in December 2009.  I have chronic kidney failure, and chronic heart disease.  At that time my Nephrologist had told me that my kidney function was so bad that I would have to go on dialysis. I refused to do that and told him that he needed to find an alternative. I visited my relatives in New Zealand that Christmas, visited the farm and was introduced to the juice. I have been taking the juice on a daily basis ever since, about 150ml per day. Just a couple of weeks ago, I was told that my kidney function was at 100% and that my heart was the best it has been in 12 years.  The doctors said that whatever I am doing, keep doing it. I thoroughly endorse the juice, I think it is a definite winner."

Thanks for sharing our day. Thank you so much for the awesome day, including all the help in the lead up to it to make it all run so well. Mamaku Blue is an awesome setting for a wedding. Well done everyone.

We just wanted to stay that the Jams we bought to take home have been the most amazing blueberry tasting jams we've ever tasted. Our families have commented the same that they've never had anything so fantastic on pancakes, toast etc - ever.

I was fortunate to come along to your winery last weekend. Firstly, the hospitality and food were wonderful. On a very cold morning the welcome was certainly warm. Then, what can I say, I haven't laughed so hard since I went on the vineyard tour.
I don't think anyone of us who went a long would have had any idea of what to expect, but your owner was superb. The presentation was fantastic: educational and topped up by the wit and quick thinking of the presenter. Well done to you all. You are on my list of places to recommend to friends.

Just a short note to thank you most sincerely for the very pleasant evening the Rotorua Branch of the National Party had at Mamaku Blue.

We had never been to the premise before and though it was a cold and blustery evening it did not matter as inside both the atmosphere and the food were excellent.

Thank you so much for your hospitality and the quality of your service and food. I look forward to bringing visitors to your premise in the future.

I truly believe that blueberries can contribute to good health; in fact, I have been eating blueberries from Rotorua for some years now, and I certainly notice a difference when I give them up, even for a few weeks.................

Dear folks,
Recently we visited the Mamaku Blue Winery. All 34 of us had a thoroughly enjoyable day including the tour of the orchard and chillers with Harry and Anne and being looked after in the shop (with the tasting and sampling) and the Cafe by John and his staff. Everybody declared they had a very scrumptious lunch indeed.
We gave our experience a well deserved 5 out of 5!

For my 40th birthday my husband arranged a weekend of activity in Rotorua. The highlight for me was the visit to Mamaku Blue Blueberry Farm.
We took the Orchard & Winery Tour, and over the hour and a half we were treated to a personal, humourous, honest and thoroughly enjoyable tour of this lovely farm.
After a the tour of the crops and the manufacturing areas we returned to the main building to taste-test the products. Every one was divine!

My doctor recommended a regular intake of blueberries or similar fruit. (Half a cupful per day). Not only was the desired test result achieved but over the next two years a better result was consistently achieved thanks to a regular supply of both fresh and frozen fruit from 'Mamaku Blue'.

These blueberries are exceptional. My daughter suffered from continued bladder infections and using their juice actually cleared it up!!

I would strongly recommend the gooseberry jam baked in filo pastry and eaten whilst still warm. I can't wait to open our blueberry liqueur at Christmas!

It was suggested that I eat half to a cup of blueberries per day to help with menopause body pain in hands and legs. I have had no pain for 2 years. It took 6 weeks for the blueberries to kick in.

About six years ago I developed macular degeneration and lost the central vision in my right eye. Someone suggested I try taking blueberries every day, and my research told me that scientists strongly recommended them, as they're so high on the anti-oxidant list.
I was very fortunate in living quite close to Mamaku, so I had a bowl of delicious berries every night, rather than having vitamin A, C, E and zinc tablets.
While it didn't stop me from getting the degeneration in my left eye, my doctor said it held the problem off for much longer than if I'd had no blueberries. Coincidentally, during that time, science came up with a new treatment for the condition, and because the blueberries had slowed the degeneration, the treatment was a success.
I am eternally grateful for my friend who put me onto blueberries. Without them life would be a lot harder.

Dear Anne and Philip,
I'm so pleased I opted for the winery tour. Philip, you were brilliant: your ability to inform, humour & maintain the visitors interest was praiseworthy - not easy with a "train-load" of Know-All female teachers!
Well done! The group was delighted with the products available - hope the cash register was smiling! See you at the next get together!

Thank you for being the dinner venue for our SIFA Winter Conference earlier this month.
The feedback we received from the delegates was extremely positive, with the general consensus being that it was the best SIFA conference they have attended.
We could not have achieved this result without hosting an event such as our Saurday night Dinner. The venue was a great success.
Thank you also to all the staff who assisted us.

Dear John,
The Kapiti CWI members wish to thank you for a wonderful day.
Despite the very wet day, you made us feel at home. The warm welcome, the delicious lunch and the fun ride to the packing plant will be remembered for a long time.
The guide was entertaining and the tasting was great. The kindness shown by all of you made our day.

During my prolonged struggle with Melanoma I have been guided on my way back to good health by my doctor who monitored my health and gave me advise on dietary changes to boost my natural immune system.

At the end of each appointment the results of his tests were summarised in a biological scale reading on his computer. At my first appointment I had a reading of 12 and gradually this dropped to 7. My doctor assured me I could achieve 5 eventually and a regular intake of blueberries or similar fruit was recommended. (Half a cupful per day)

Not only was 5 achieved but over the next two years 3 was consistently achieved thanks to a regular supply of both fresh and frozen fruit from 'Mamaku Blue". Both physician and patient were surprised and delighted.

Today nearly two years have passed without obvious signs of melanoma and I continue enjoying blueberries almost on a year round basis.

To Anne and everyone at Mamaku Blue,
Thank you for all the hard work you put into making our day one we will truly remember! The location was gorgeous, despite all the rain! It was truly mystical watching the mist roll over your vineyards - stunning!
Even now we are still getting comments on how wonderful the food was - neat huh?!

We were lucky enough to stop off at your shop and cafe in April whilst on holiday from the UK. We just wanted to stay that the Jams we bought to take home have been the most amazing blueberry tasting jams we've ever tasted. Our families have commented the same that they've never had anything so fantastic on pancakes, toast etc - ever.

The food in the cafe (particularly the blueberry pie) was just delicious. Please also pass our thanks on to Anne for her helpful advice with regards a emigration and life in NZ. We can't wait to return, and hopefully on a permanent basis someday soon.
